Like years past, Hasbro has given us a sneak preview of their New York Toy Fair My Little Pony showroom, where they display many of this falls' toy selection! It is a quick, low quality video however, since it comes from Twitter. Head down below so I can discuss what is visibly new.
So Hasbro dropped a video showcasing their New York Toy Fair My Little Pony Showroom, displaying many toys coming out this fall. Sadly, as many expected, there wasn't anything really "exciting" and a lot of it is just mane six repeats.
âSo, let's talk about what was visible in the video, shall we?
Well, we saw a lot of the spring selection on Display, usually meaning that they won't have a lot to offer this fall, and are just trying to take up display space
âSome older products on display were the:
â-Shimmering Princesses Celestia & Luna Fashion styles
-On the Go Rarity & Twiligh Packs
-Magical Salon Fashion Style Ponies
-Rainbow Squad (Classic Collection) Mane Six pony singles
-Electric Rainbow Wings Princess Twilight Sparkle
There were a few "New" things on display too. Keep in mind the "Quotation marks." Once these products get higher quality images from the fair, they will be posted here.
Some newer things on display were:
-Repackaged Ultimate Equestria Collection
-Rainbow Roadtrip Color Reveal Tail Surprise set
-âOh My Giggles Pinkie Pie
Actual new products displayed were:
New Mane Six and Princesses set
New Rainbow Dash On The Go set (I like these because they have accurate eye designs and different poses than normal; aka good character repeats)â, This Rainbow appears to be in the reboot Twilight pose. Very suiting for her determined personality.
Cutie Mark Crew - It seems as there will be a wave 5 on Display at the fair, with purple packaging, however the sign suggests that the packages will actually be multicolored instead?ââ Not many characters are recognizable in this video quality though.
Lastly (I know, so little new products) are these weird heads of Twilight Sparkle & Pinkie Pie. I am unsure what they are, but they may be styling heads (This may be wrong though, since they don't have real hair).â
In conclusion; Everyone expected this year to be a fail for MLP. It's a shame that the Friendship School series in my opinion was better, and everyone, including myself, thought so poorly of that series. Hasbro has really gone downhill, and if this is what they think the fans would want, and would consider it as "listening to the fans," then I'm not surprised if they lose out on TONS of money. They already fell short of revenue from their products last year, and it's a shame they likely will lose out on more this year. This is NOT listening to the fans. It's all repeats.
It also is sad to think that this is the best they could do for the finale of My Little Pony (Season 9 will likely be the last season, it's been hinted at and rumored), when the only "good" thing in my opinion is the blue 4" Luna, and it may just be the lighting making her look blue, so we really can't say if there is anything good coming from this.
And Equestria Girls who? Sorry sis, she don't exist of what's been shown in the video.
If you enjoy the line so far, I'm glad you do, but for us pony collectors, who already have 10+ versions of these characters in reboot form, we're upset that Hasbro lost that variety they had from G1-G3.
Let's just hope this was only a part of the line, and that new desired characters are made or displayed further down the road.
